Procastination Blog (I don't want to work)

Ugh, the afternoon is just dragging...I'm sitting at my desk yawning. Of course it could be a sugar crash from the Snickers that I just ate. Do you know that I haven't had a full sized candy bar in years?? YEARS! It was in my drawer, my co-worker likes to bring us goodies, I usually pass. Not today. Today I opened my drawer...then shut it. I ate lunch, 'that will take care of the craving' I thought. Opened my drawer...still there...staring at me. I shut the drawer and chewed on a piece of gum. 'That should do it! Keep my mouth busy!' I thought. Nope, I kept opening the drawer and then I was ripping open the wrapper and took a BIG bite. Yum. Totally worth it. I may have to do some extra cardio this week...oh well.

In other news...this weekend I ran a 5k. Nothing special, not a PR, well...actually it may be my slowest running 5k. I was running with my co-workers daughter who has asthma and forgot to take her meds AND forgot her inhaler. SO not only was I guiding her through her first race, I was having to listen to her breathing to make sure her airways were open. I even made her full on stop one time when I knew she couldn't is just a minor thing. No big deal.

No great sex this weekend, no great ride or even shitty ride as I didn't go out. I did have a killer pancake after the race though. Oh, and I made a couple of kick ass meals on Sunday as well. Ha, I almost forgot. This is classic:

Saturday we watched the NFL draft, I like watching that stuff so I didn't mind. Until the first round was over and Trainer says, 'What's for dinner?' and I said, 'I don't know, what do you want?' Which of course started the circular argument of who should decide what is for dinner. I really didn't want to cook, but we were supposed to be eating at home. The meal that I had planned was a bust because I forgot some of the main ingredients (that was the kick ass meal from Sunday.) SO, I had other options since I hadn't gone to the store...because we were watching the draft...and apparently I should have gone during the draft??? Whatever. I said, 'Fine (read tone), I'll just make teriyaki chicken and couscous.' Trainer, 'Let's just have pasta. There I made a decision.' And guess who gets to make the pasta? ME! Fricka fracka!

Not ONLY did I have to MAKE the pasta, we had no sauce so I had to make that as well...from scratch! GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! And what does he say when we sit down to eat? 'At least we didn't eat out.'

Yes! Thursday is here...and almost gone

I hate Mondays almost as much as I love Thursdays. Thursdays are one step closer to Friday which in turn is one step closer to me being OFF for 2 days. It's glorious. Usually busy so the time flies by, added bonus. Today was no different, the day was over before I knew it. This evening I went on a 60 min ride with Mid-west Girl. It was WINDY, but still, a good ride. Came home, made a fabulous 'fly by the seat of my pants dinner' and now I'm chillaxin with a glass of vino and bloggin.

Hmmm...between Monday and today what happened... My office mate was her usual pain in the ass self, she's just difficult, I'll need to go into detail when I have more time. My sales dudes that I 'support' were all okay, no big dramas this week. Oh yes, Tuesday our air conditioner wasn't working (it was 95 degrees here and 87 in the house) so we had to eat out. Well, we didn't HAVE to, but I didn't think that heating up the house even more was a good idea. This got fixed on Wednesday morning.

I went Kayaking with Yoga Zen Babe on Wednesday evening and that was fabulous. There is nothing like being on the water, it was nice...pretty calm and the sun was setting so it wasn't too hot. Plus I just love spending time with YZB. I did much better this week than I did last week, I felt pretty strong, although we were only out for about 40 min. Next week we'll be out for a bit longer and I believe that YZB and I are going to make this a standing "date"! Yippee! It will be a great compliment to my other exercise crap.

Oh, yes...and Trainer and I are a little farther along in planning our vow renewal that is happening in Mexico this October. We got the contract for the place that we were originally married at and it was outrageous. I had a little meltdown, a 'Debbie Downer' moment....but I recovered today. I tend to do that when things don't go exactly as planned with events. They always turn out, and I know that, but I always freak...just a bit. So, instead of having our ceremony at the same place that we were married we're going for the beach setting, which I think is fabulous. We'll get "remarried" in a new spot, a new start. Then we'll go up to this restaurant that has a terrace and get everyone in attendance drunk! I'm stoked.

Things on the weight loss front are...ehh...but I'm just going to keep eating "whole" foods, as much as I can, keep exercising and stop stressing about it. I know, I know...I say this a lot...but maybe if I keep saying might stick!

Saturday is a 5k race for me, I'll have to blog about that after it's over. Later gators!

Did I mention that Monday's suck?

For no other reason than the fact that it is a Monday, a new work week...I suppose I could look at is as a new time table that gets me to Friday? If I only thought about things that way. We had a fab weekend again, lots of booze. I think that when Trainer and I end up doing something that involves kids we feel the need to exercise those 'twenty something' habits and go get drunk. Maybe just because we can? I don't know...and really is it a 'twenty something' thing? We've been doing it well into our thirties. Something to ponder. I drank on Thursday (1 1/2 glasses of wine), Friday (Beer and Burgers night), Saturday (Happy Hour out at trendy bar, continued at home with the addition of Kissopoly) and HAD to finish the opened bottle of wine (from Thursday) on Sunday.

Anyway, I just popped in to say "Hey!" and that all is good in the land of the barren. (Don't read into that one, just a funny statement, I'm not longing for a child...truly.)

I checked in with my Gold's gym person today, took my measurements and I'm losing inches and body fat, no weight though. Maybe if I didn't subscribe to the Burgers and Beer diet every Friday it would help? Thoughts?

Off to go make dinner for the Trainer...I'm thinking of Hoisin Chicken over brown rice and a spinach salad with goat cheese. Yum. Trying for 7 days of no eating out. Ready...set...GO!

Oh good morning to you all! Well, I suppose you could be reading this at different times, but it's morning as I write. I tend to get on a roll with blogging and then all hell breaks out at work and sidelines me for a while. We had yet another RIF at work, again I was spared, but the amount of work that is now on our plates is a little too much. They cut too deep. My office mate (we literally share an office) is being Negative Nancy and is unbearable 3 out of the 5 days of the week. She just has a bad attitude. We all know that I complain and bitch however I can keep a smile on my face or make a witty/funny remark to keep things light. Eh, it's just "one foot in front of the other" and we shall survive it.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going down to Houston to visit one of my best friends Legs and her family. Trainer had a class to attend on Friday and Saturday for his continuing ed credits so I decided to join him and hang out. I seriously don't know how all of you with multiple children do it. Really. I was exhausted by the end of the weekend and I didn't even do anything! Between both of us being tired from the weekend (Trainer's class was pretty intense and he was physically exhausted) and the stress of our pups wanting to jump over the fence and take care of our neighbor's dog we had a little argument. It all comes down to our different styles of communication. I like to work things out by talking about it and he likes to shut himself away and work through the problems on his own. This always creates an issue on top of the issue.

We didn't really get a chance to really get things worked out that night or during the week since we were both busy. So... Friday evening we went to our local dive bar, had a couple of beers and then I brought it up. I think this drives him batty since he would just like to go on like nothing happened, and I just can't let it go. However I did get to say my peace. We stopped at the convenience store on the way home to get more beer and broke out the KISSOPOLY game.

What the hell??? Yes, Kissopoly is a version of Monopoly just in a KISS (rock band) setting. How boring right? Well...we've kind of made Kissopoly into a game of foreplay. If you remember, I have a love of lingerie and so does Trainer (me wearing it). So if you think back to a Monopoly board there are the "chance" cards, I cannot think of what the other ones are..., anyway in the KISS game they are "backstage pass" and "general admission" cards. We usually play one real game and then the second game we make up rules for those two cards. The rules change every time we play. This time the rules were that any time you landed on a backstage pass card you got 1 min of pleasure "you call it" style and the general admission cards you got 30 secs "you call it." Trainer would made me change my "outfits" on his turns and most of the time the 1 min/30 sec time rule went out the window. Hehehe....

So, anytime you need to mix things up pull out an old game and start making up your own rules, it's fun...and doesn't cost money and believe me gets you in the mood.

In other news I'm frustrated with my weight. I feel like I've been doing everything right, exercising, eating etc. but the scale won't move. I'm thinking about taking the advice of MizFit (shes' awesome, take a look around her site) and put my scale away for a while, start eating food in it's most natural state and just keep exercising. We'll see what happens.

Enjoy your day peeps!
